I graduated with my BSN in May of 2020. I have some LTC experience, but mainly I have Medical Surgical experience. Starting a nursing career in the midst of a pandemic definitely had some advantages. I am more confident with my skills and have an enhanced passion for patient care because of the pandemic and the types of patients that I was able to take care of. Not that I wasn’t passionate in general at the beginning of this journey, it just changed. I found a new respect for my fellow nurses and the patients that it likely would have taken years to attain otherwise. I truly know the importance of what we do as nurses and the impact we can have on our patients and each other. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the healthcare team and I look forward to new opportunities while advancing in the nursing career.
