About Darryl Branthwaite

My wife and I have been operating the Caltex Boyne River Roadhouse for 22 years. After leaving that industry with regret both Jenny and myself started our Real Estate Careers selling residential property of which Jenny is very successful but my heart was Commercial. I looked after the Commercial and Industrial Sales and Leasing Portfolio at Raine and Horne Gladstone with Mark Patton and his team from 2011 til August 2015. I have been on various boards around the region such as the GAPDL, the regions peak tourism and development organisation, as a pastdirector, plus the Red Shield appeal committee, the BTABC, another community group, and a founding member of the Boyne Tannum HookUp which is the largest family fishing event in Australia. I was the CEO of that peak tourism and development organisation called the GAPDL and I have to admit I felt very blessed to be appointed such an important role. over a four year period our small but very able team attracted the cruise ship industry to Gladstone, delivered information in a new way to the drive tourism market, increased over night expenditure and visitation by double digits, and basically set Gladstone's course on its way to becoming a destination for tourism Since July 2019 we have purchased a 20 seat coach fitted with leather recliner seats and created a business called Gladstone Region Tours which fills an amazingly big gap in tourism experiences here in Gladstone. Come a try us. On Australia Day 2020 I was honoured with the Gladstone Region Citizen of the Year award. There is no greater honour to bestow upon a resident than this. Truly amazing In April 2020 I was elected on to the Gladstone Region Council as a councillor. My focus is on economic development, waste, and infrastructure. My vision is to have a region full of abundance in opportunities in investment, wealth, and work opportunities. It's also my dream to have Gladstone as a tourist destination for the cruise industry and a major jumping off point for the reef. Gladstone Region has all the toys.
