For the past fourteen years I’ve demonstrated my ability to elevate any team I’m on by improving not only the team’s performance but also the team’s organizational commitment. My success rests on this combination of skills: MULTI-TASKING AND ORGANIZATION. As an executive assistant to naval commanders in a variety of settings, I’m at home in fast-paced environments where my ability to prioritize workflows and develop more efficient processes and procedures generates results. Whether it’s managing a 2.2M Euro budget across 11 NATO nations or scheduling Navy ceremonial resources for high-level events, I’m able to analyze and resolve problems quickly and effectively in the daily operation of executive offices. OUTSIDE OF THE BOX THINKING. I believe there are multiple ways to solve a problem and I encourage co-workers to brainstorm theirs while I too propose new ways of doing things. As a result, I’ve managed to eliminate a three-year work backlog in the course of nine months and raise over $1M for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society through innovative programming that generated interest and participation. I’m a relationship-builder who takes the time to find out what motivates team members in order to find ways to engage them in not only furthering the company’s mission but also their own. COMMUNICATION. Whether it’s writing reports, conveying company policies or presenting training materials, I find ways to deliver the message so that others understand and respond. To avoid “death by PowerPoint” for example, I incorporate interactive aspects to my presentations and create a story that engages the audience while delivering the message. Consistency is also key to effective communication and I ensure that messages are delivered in a timely and dependable manner to encourage compliance. While my experience has been in the United States Navy, the skills that have driven my success there translate to any work environment.
