About Darryl Henriques

Biography written for KSAN FM’s WHOS WHERE - Jive95 (AKA: Joe Carcinogenni, Jacques Kissmatoe, Rev. Clyde Fingerdip and The Swami from Miami) is happy and no longer living on Hope Street in South Pasadena (The only change is there is no hope!). He has worked a very few times on KPFA and KPFK and KPCC in Pasadena but those stations felt that his edge did not fall within the confines of their envelopes. As a stand-up he has performed at benefits for the Rainforest Action Network, the Sea Shepherd Society, the Alliance for Survival, the Abalone Alliance, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Various Waldorf Schools, Fair, Media Alliance, etc. Darryl is the author of 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Pave the Earth, Ulysses Press. His film debut as a narcotics officer was in Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke which he hopes no one will see. Then he appeared as the Life Magazine reporter in The Right Stuff. In Jumanji, he plays a gun dealer who sells an automatic shotgun to the big game hunter who is stalking Robin Williams.(Sure, I'm jealous of Robin but not that jealous!) He also portrayed Nanclus, the Romulan Ambassador to the Federation in Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country, Portal in Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Last Outpost and the Dopterian waiter in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: For the Uniform. The role of the waiter prepared him for his final Hollywood career in which he appears at parties all over Southern California working for a well-known catering company. He calls it “Food Theatre.” In 2011 he somehow persuaded 20 theatres across the country to do a reading of Sinclair Lewis' It Can't Happen Here on the same night to honor the 75th anniversary of the Federal Theatre Project's opening of the play in 22 theaters in 17 cities on October 27, 1936.
