About Darryl Motooka

I am a native to the Campbell area, I have spent my whole life there. I have had an interest in art and design at a very young age, I was always drawing or sketching something out in my free time. In my cards and gifts that I gave to people, there was always a drawing. It wasn't until high school did I start to realize that I liked art and design. I started taking classes in art in high school to see how well I could draw and design. After I graduated high school in 2007, I realized that I had a talent for art and design. I attended De Anza College from 2007-2010. In that time I took all of the Graphic Design classes that I could. There, I learned the basics of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I transferred to San Jose State University in 2010 knowing that I wanted to major in Graphic Design. From 2010-2013 I had grown so much in my knowledge and practice of design. In that time had built a passion for design. I put all of myself in my work, I don't give up on a project and I work on it until it's done and done on time. I don't skip on any details and I love precision work. I had become passionate about design in the communication aspect and making designs that are pleasing to the eye. I understand now why certain designs work and why others don't. From taking these classes it has helped me better understand design and appreciate fine works of design. My degree in Graphic Design that I received upon graduating this spring of 2013, signified that I know the introduction of design and that my growth in design is yet to come.
