I'm a transport and spatial planning specialist with 21 years experience working within the planning, transportation, and construction industry alongside major public sector clients including Highways England (formerly the Highways Agency), and private developers including major house builders. In my current role I provide assistance to private sector clients at all stages of the planning process, working in cooperation with public body stakeholder groups, statutory consultees, and the general public to provide solutions to highways development control issues that arise as part of the planning determination process. My focus is to provide engineering and sustainable transport solutions that are acceptable to achieve positive planning decisions, whilst ensuring that viability of development is not unnecessarily hindered by over-engineered transport infrastructure or by extended planning determination periods. I work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams and part of my role is to ensure that best-fit solutions are achieved that satisfy all aspects of the design process within given constraints, working closely with architects; master-planners; town planning consultants; land agents; noise, air, drainage and geo-technical consultants; ecologists; highway authorities; water authorities; and planning authorities.As part of my current role I have developed a wide range of technical specialties which include- Preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans- Preparation and Assistance with formulation of S278, S38, and S106 agreements- Advanced Junction Modelling (ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY, TRICS, TRANSYT, LINSIG)- Detailed Signals Design inc. TR2500 specifications- Use of GIS systems inc. Mapinfo; Accession; Arcview; and QGIS- Public Consultation Events, Planning Committee Presentations, and Information Workshops.
