About Daryl Azevedo

I started my Apprenticeship at SaskPower as a Power Line Technician in 1970 completing it in 1974. I supervised a Power line construction crew from 1973 until 1986. I moved to District Operation, Maintenance and Administration in 1986 and I became a District Operating Supervisor from 1991 until I became a Safety Coordinator in and worked in that role until my retirement from SaskPower in 2010. During my employment at SaskPower, I completed a Labor Relations certificate course at the University of Saskatchewan. I acquired a Certificate in Occupational, Health and Safety from the University of Alberta and I am a retired Canadian Registered Safety Professional. I am presently an Instructor in Electrical Safety specializing in electrical shock, arc flash and arc pressure. I have a strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations of Saskatchewan as well as those in Alberta and Manitoba. Over my many years of experience as a Journeyed Powerline Technician, specializing in electrical construction, maintenance and management. I have a working knowledge of protection and control systems and the design of distribution line equipment. I have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, interpret current regulation and safety guidelines as they apply to the operation and maintenance of new or existing distribution and utility power lines and related utilities. I am also able to identify and implement effective, efficient safe work practices.
