About Daryl Johnston

Over 27 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Beginning with four years of pipeline construction, well site fabrication, pipe fitting, pressure testing and QA/QC. Advancing into Instrumentation and completing my apprenticeship with Syndicated Technologies Ltd and providing construction, service, preventative maintenance, controls upgrades and compliance calibrations and metering for the Northern clients. I continued similar duties with Tarpon Energy Services and gained more construction and fabrication experience, along with maintaining a client base out of the Edmonton area. From there I moved back to my home town of Athabasca and built a successful E&I branch for Independent Electric & Controls Ltd. over the next 10 years, specializing in control and measurement modernization and integration. Moving up to Sr Management role where I created the Electrical QMS, created and developed the ABSA QMS, numerous Policies and Procedures to achieve Certification for the Company for Instrument tubing Construction. Developed, implemented an maintained client SCADA systems, trained and mentored employees and maintained a client base in the Northeast Region.Currently an EI & C Measurement Technician at TC Energy and the Owner of Dark Controls, an instrumentation maintenance and construction company in northern Alberta.
