About Dattatraya Kalel

Currently working as assistant lead (control) engineer (R&D) in senvion india. I pursued a PhD research fellow in power electronics and motor drives at the Danfoss Advanced Drives Lab in VIT Vellore, working on adaptive electric drive systems with multi-control algorithms. I also have six months of industrial project experience developing sensorless FOC drives for permanent magnet synchronous motors. My expertise lies in power electronics, electrical machines, control systems, and even the integration of artificial intelligence into these drives. I'm proficient in designing various power converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC) and have a deep understanding of advanced control techniques for motors. which includes vector control, indirect Felid orientation control (IFOC), direct torque control (DTC), scalar control (V/F), and slip compensated V/f), I-F start-up control, sensorless speed estimation (MRAS, flux observer), six-step commutation logic, maximum torque per ampere (MTPA), loss minimization control (LMC) for induction motor drives, PMSM, and BLDC drives. Additionally, I possess strong knowledge of different pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. Hands-on experience with Danfoss VLT 302 drives, as well as familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink and hardware platforms like the dSPACE 1202 and TI C200 board, solidify my practical skills. I've also worked on MIL, SIL, and HIL, as well as rapid prototyping and bench testing methodologies.
