About Dave:Dave Brown has been playing the guitar for nearly 2 decades now and since the turn of the millennium, has also taken on the mandolin, bass and ukulele. In 2006, he received his BA from U-Mass Amherst in Jazz performance and shortly after spent some time abroad, first teaching English in France for a year, and then working as a showband musician for Carnival Cruise Lines. In 2008, he returned to his hometown of Pittsfield, Ma where he dominated the local music scene for the next 5 years, sometimes playing with 5 or more bands at once, as well as playing in pit bands for theater productions. During this period, Dave was also fortunate enough to have played with James Taylor, Nigel Hall (Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Soulive etc), and David Grover. In May of 2013, he relocated to Denver, CO and finished his first book on guitar entitled, “From All Angles: A Comprehensive Guide to the Guitar”, which is currently in the process of being published.His teaching experience and method:Dave Brown started teaching the guitar just over 12 years ago now during his freshman year of college in order to make some extra money on the side. Never did he think it would become his passion and his career, but after a couple awkward years of figuring out the logistics of teaching as well as simultaneously developing his own method, he began to fall in love with it. By the time he left Massachusetts in 2013, Dave had taught for the Berkshire Music School (local non-profit), Woodbros Music (local music store) and was even adjunct faculty for Berkshire Community College. He also coached Rock ensembles for Rock On (a 2 week summer camp) and then later created a 10 week Rock ensemble program for the Berkshire Music School known as “Build a Band”.
