About Dave Carter

The driving passion of my professional life is people development. I have successfully completed a Bachelor of Business at Massey University. These studies have involved high levels of financial analytics, report writing, management and leadership development, problem-solving, strategy development, and negotiations, among others. These skills have been developed upon a foundation of over 10 years’ administration and customer service experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors. I have continuously demonstrated exceptional customer service, teamwork abilities, attention to detail, sound decision making and time management. Financial Management An understanding of financial risk assessment, project cost evaluation, mortgage repayment calculations, etc. These skills have been developed through my degree in such papers as Statistics for Business, Accounting, Economics, Fundamentals of Finance, and Business Finances. Leadership and Management Three years’ experience in a managerial role requiring vision casting, event planning, applying for council permits, delegating tasks, motivational techniques, marketing, strategy development, and the training of volunteer staff. Teaching and Group Training Good group presentation skills developed through giving a workshop on NZ Culture to university students & staff, running English Language Courses in Argentina and teaching in Chile. Analytical and investigative A special project assigned to me by my manager required the creation of a database in Excel which involved coding through VBA. With no previous programming experience, the project involved large amounts of investigation and self-learning and was successfully completed. A large assignment for my International Business paper required the investigation into a hypothetical export project. This required research into the political and economic climates, cultural impacts, financial risk analysis, and strategic development.
