About Dave Edwards

Currently I have 4 years of experience in leadership and 13 years of laboratory experience under my belt. In my current role as Group Leader of the Volatiles Department I foster an environment that our costumers can depend on accurate steadfast data for a number of EPA VOC methods. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a host of instrumentation testing water soil, and air matrices. I’m hand on with routine and troubleshooting maintenance of our GC/MS, GC/FID/PIDs, Centurium and Archon Autosamplers. At Abbott, my role as a Screening Department Supervisor merged leadership with scientific precision, overseeing a team dedicated to maintaining excellence in regulatory compliance and laboratory operations. Our collective efforts contribute to the integrity of toxicology screenings, guided by laboratory SOPs and regulatory guidelines. We tested oral fluid and urine matrices processing + samples daily meeting and exceeding industry turn around standards. We operated and maintained Beckman Coulter AU series analytical instruments, Tecans, and Specific gravity refractometers. I’ve always enjoyed continuing to build and expand on my instrumentation and technical knowledge. I’ve learned the importance of effective time management and work life balance over the years. When I am not in the lab I enjoy drawing painting, and recently started work working. So far I still have all of my fingers and toes, so I must be doing something right.
