Dave Ehrlich is an Adjunct Lecturer & Teaching Merit Award winner (2022) at Indiana University O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He proposed, designed, & teaches the school's first graduate course focused solely on Climate Change Policy, and also teaches courses on Public Policy Process and on Public Management. O'Neill SPEA is ranked #1 of 269 US Public Affairs School by USN & WR; it's also #1 in Environmental Policy & Management;#1 in Public Management & Leadership;#4 in Public Policy Analysis. Dave also lectures at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Urban Planning & Public Affairs (#29 of 269) in the Dept. of Public Policy, Mgmt, & Analytics teaching a Policy Development & Process course & also Policy Analysis Previously: Adjunct Associate Professor, La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Clinical Assistant Professor of Environmental Management & Public Administration, Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology; & Chair of the Leadership & Policy Studies degree program in the School of Public Service at DePaul University. He has taught more than 130 graduate university courses on 25 subjects including climate change policy, environmental policy, policy design & analysis, policy design analytics, policy process, policy implementation, policy evaluation, policy evaluation analytics, advocacy & public policy, comparative public policy, international public service, management & leadership, organizational theory & behavior, international development, global civil society organizations, strategic competitiveness in the public sector, government finance, public sector decision making, strategic planning, research methods, statistics, and nonprofit finance. Before academics, as a senior analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), he briefed Members of Congress, congressional committees, & nongovernmental groups on legislation and policy design issues. He wrote & coauthored published reports on energy & the environment, innovative policy approaches, transportation finance, airline safety, flight training, occupational safety, federal education assistance, & military weapons systems. He also served six years as senior legislative assistant to two members of Congress. More recently, he has lectured and consulted with government agencies on environmental and energy issues as well as designed online policy and social science courses and tests. Serves on the Board of Friends of WOTR and as co-founder (1 of many) of the Climate Action Museum of Chicago.
