About Dave Elmer

After qualifying as a CA with KPMG in Brisbane in 1997, I lived and worked in the UK, doing predominantly management accounting/analyst roles for the next 4 years. My last role was with KP Foods (the biggest snack food producer in the UK), where I responsible for the management accounting for the entire business unit. I was sponsored to stay past the expiration of my working holiday visa for a further 2 years. On returning to Brisbane, I worked as the Senior Business Analyst with Dominos Pizza Enterprises Ltd from 2001 to 2006. During that time, the company underwent a period of rapid growth, increasing the store count from 180 stores to more than 600 to become the largest pizza business based in Australasia (including a successful IPO). I was responsible for all the forecasting/budgeting, acquisition evaluation, and a wide variety of ad hoc analyst work that a company with such growth profile inevitably requires. In 1.5 years at Virgin Blue, I worked in two project management roles, finishing as acting Project Manager of Finance for V Australia (VB’s start-up long haul airline), before relocating to the Gold Coast for ‘sea change’ reasons. For the next 3 years, I was employed at Billabong Ltd, as Brand Finance Manager of the 6 distinct ‘emerging’ brands within the group. After leaving Billabong, I completed a short term contract to at Warner Village undertaking various strategic reviews. In March 2012, I was appointed as Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific. In 2014, the role was expanded to Director level, with a broader sphere of responsibility within this growing enterprise. in 2018, this role was expanded to Senior Director. In October 2020, I joined Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast, as the Director of Financial Performance.
