Dave’s a transformational leader that enjoys working cross-functionally to achieve results along with team development to provide opportunities for others. He has over a 30-year history in the logistics industry with a primary focus working on automation and robotics for material handling systems in the Hubs and Package Centers of UPS in the continental US. He has held various positions of increasing responsibility in areas of facility and conveyor systems maintenance, environmental compliance, systems engineering, process optimization, managing projects at all levels for greenfield and brownfield facility & material handling system development and construction, and R&D. Dave can work effectively on the plant floor up to the C-suite presenting strategies and obtaining approvals for business needs. Dave’s current position is Director of Engineering @ Worldport, the world’s largest automated package sorting facility and UPS’ all-points Air Hub. Notable positions prior to this are: • Director of Corp R&D for Automation and Robotics – Led team of engineers for product development of emerging technologies and new system design concepts to aid in UPS’ productivity initiatives. • Director of Automation Deployment for the East Region for UPS’s Hub Modernization and Capacity Expansion initiatives. • Project Director for the construction of the 2nd largest UPS Ground Hub (S.M.A.R.T.) in Atlanta, GA - This project included the development of 200 acres of land, constructing multiple facilities totaling 1.25M SF, and the installation of an 18-mile automated 104K capacity Material Handling System. The project was completed one year ahead of schedule and under budget. • Project Manager for the Material Handling System Installation at the UPS Ontario, CA Air Hub – This project included the engineering and installation of a 47K capacity automated Material Handling System.
