An accomplished and driven Chemical Engineer specializing in Instrument and Control Systems with wide experience in the successful execution and leadership of large, complex, offshore, and onshore global Lithium, LNG, chemical, oil and gas, security, robotic, pharmaceutical, food, and steel projects. A Chartered Engineer in Australia, and the United Kingdom with membership to the Australian Institute of Project Management. Skilled in the areas of control systems, general instrumentation design, commissioning, and construction within a wide range of environments across several countries. A self-motivated innovative engineer, having been the first to have applied the following three control system platforms world-wide: Taylor MOD30 (BOC Thame UK 1985), Taylor MOD300 (ICI Avonmouth US/UK 1987) and Rockwell’s Allen-Bradley Intelligent Motion Controller IMC (Hunting Engineering Hoddesdon, UK 1988). I was also instrumental, with Expo Systems from the UK in delivering the world’s first Zone 2 PC to provide DCS live screens using X-terminals to the field.(Shell Rayong Thailand 1995). The Ex N(R) explosion protection method was a side product of this project and became part of IEC 60079. Qualified Functional Safety Engineer and responsible for oversight of HAZOPs and LOPA / SIL analyses. With a wider perspective on general project execution, I am experienced in supervision of civil and earth-moving works, structural steel fabrication, piping, site-welding, and vessel erection. Successful management of stakeholders through maintaining open communication and effectively understanding and executing goals in a time efficient manner. Multilingual Engineer with fluency in English and Dutch, and familiarity with French, German, and Thai, accomplished in the development, leadership, and management of multicultural teams. Great interpersonal and intercultural skills. Trained in process design at MW Kellogg’s training school London while working on LNG projects in the early 1980’s. Currently completing a Doctoral thesis at the University of Western Australia on the meaning of “Project Success” and different perspectives of individual personnel involved in complex mega-projects in the petrochemical industries.
