About Dave Flippo

Dave Flippo's has performed and taught in the Chicagoland area since 1990. His varied experience include many years in the After Hours wedding band and decades performing as a solo pianist and small ensemble leader at numerous private functions and weddings. He has performed as a pianist at the Drake Hotel, Langham Hotel, Gordons Restaurant, Marriott Lincolnshire, Spagias, Gibson's Steakhouse and more performing in a wide variety of styles: traditional jazz standards and show tunes, contemporary music from the 60's the the present and even classical and Bollywood. He hold a Doctorate and Masters in Music Composition from the University of Michigan and the Eastman School of Music He also leads a contemporary jazz ensemble which is his outlet for this compositional and arranging activities. The band, Planet Flippo, has recorded six CD in the past thirty years. This ensemble has also been requested some more "adventurous" private events. He is a music instructor at Triton College and the College of Lake County (Grayslake), in his home studio in Skokie and in the home throughout the North Shore. He is married to Melissa Leeb and has two children, Gabriel and Gillian.
