About Dave Irwin

I began my career working for Conduit Enterprises, a multi-service call centre that exposed me to a number of different industries, from taxi regulation, to mortgage sales through the Bank of Scotland. From there I transitions to Citibank Europe in 2007, where I spent 7 years working in their GTS department. We handled everything from foreign exchange to securities instruction and trade settlement. Working in global settlements for Citibank between 2007 and 2014 was a wild experience. Through my experience working through the 2008 financial crisis, I eventually ended up on a team dealing with distressed markets. My clients included those with exposure in Iceland (ISK), Egypt, Greece, and Ireland. From the closing of the Jersey tax loophole to the Greek debt crisis, my work dealt with all kinds of distressed and evolving market conditions. In 2014 I had the opportunity to come to Toronto, Canada. Leaving global finance, I settled in the Canada and began my second career in FinTech. Working initially for fintech startup Tier1CRM, in their customer success department. Since 2014 Tier1 has been sold and acquired a number of times, before being bought by SS & C in 2022. In that time I have seen the company, and my role, evolve from startup to a more formal corporate structure. I've worked on everything from account management to code deployment. Right now I am a senior product specialist within the SS & C Tier1 customer success department. In 2017 while in Canada, I started David Irwin Design, a small graphic design business helping businesses with their branding and advertising. We have since evolved into a full service multi-media marketing agency. We help clients with video, email, social media and brand marketing efforts. Our client list include law firms, insurance companies, creative, and construction companies. With a focus on online media, we help clients reach their desired audience through data-driven creative campaigns. Whether it is a salesperson sending an email with "more details" or a print advertisement run in an industry magazine, I plan and execute a viable marketing strategy to get the most out of a business's marketing actions.
