An early innovator in IoT (Internet of Things) networks, focusing on connecting fielded products to factories through Digital Threads to enable Digital Twins. Work has centered on giving products a “digital voice” by developing global IoT architectures that support complex, dispersed engineering systems—initially in aerospace—enabling real-time PLM data from products in the field. A former US Navy Commander and military pilot, with broad experience in joint operations, war gaming, and field experimentation. Expertise includes data management, digital publishing, and emerging visualization technologies applied across aerospace, transportation, building systems, and other industries. Work at UTRC and Pratt & Whitney laid the foundation for 11 of 13 US patents in early IoT applications for aircraft and industrial systems health management, with products now in service worldwide. Consulting experience includes NASA, the FAA, and commercial aerospace companies in the US and Asia. Experience in Wisconsin included advancing digital transformation at Oshkosh Corporation, a leader in municipal vehicles, construction platform access equipment, and military convoy vehicles, including the JLTV.
