About Dave Novis

As a highly skilled CG generalist and animator with over a decade of experience in the industry, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, ranging from feature films to TV shows and short films. My passion for animation and visual effects has driven me to continually improve my skills, both through formal education and on-the-job learning. Currently, I'm working as a CG generalist and animator at Love Love Films, where I'm responsible for creating high-quality 3D animations and visual effects for the TV show Pop Paper City. In addition to my animation work, I also created a range of stylized effects across multiple episodes. The show was made entirely in Cinema 4D, and my previous motion graphics experience with the software proved very useful in allowing me to take on the role of CG generalist. I'm always looking for ways to expand my skillset, and I recently completed a course at Escape Studios called Summer of Unreal, which has helped me improve my skills in using Unreal Engine. Prior to my current role, I worked as a previz shot creator at NVIZ on Luther: The Fallen Sun, where I collaborated with the director and VFX supervisor to create previsualization shots for the show. I also worked as an animator at UNIT Film & TV, Moving Picture Company (MPC), Outpost VFX, and Polar Media, where I animated a variety of creatures and characters, ranging from cats and cows to lions and tentacles. I also have experience in visual effects and compositing, having worked on short films and TV shows at Moon Watcher Media. Outside of my professional work, I've done freelance motion graphics, animation, and compositing for various clients, as well as working as a motion graphics artist at Q-Matic. I'm always looking for new opportunities to work on exciting projects, and I'm open to freelance work or new full-time positions. My skills include Maya, Cinema 4D, ZBrush, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, and Unreal Engine. I'm a collaborative team player, always looking for ways to improve my skills and help the team create the best possible final product.
