About Dave Peruski

My career in the military, healthcare and higher education has provided a variety of experiences which has allowed me to grow within my profession and serve as a role model. In any position that I have held I am deeply committed to quality. As a registered nurse I have worked in various areas but primarily critical care (cardio-thoracic, neurology, cardiac care, surgical, and neonatal). I have held a variety of administrative positions in the healthcare arena as a nurse manager and hospital supervisor. Upon entering higher education I have been a nursing instructor in the area of medical-surgical nursing, nursing program coordinator and division chair for Health & Wellness. These positions allowed me to advance to the level of Full Professor as faculty. I also served as the Dean of Teaching & Learning which was a great experience to serve in a role that had a positive impact on faculty and students and contributed greatly to student success. After completing my doctorate I took a position at Saginaw Valley State University. While at SVSU I taught a variety of courses in the pre-licensure BSN program, RN to BSN Program and Graduate Program. I also served in the role of Assistant Dean of Health & Human Services during this time. I am now beginning a new role as the Dean of Nursing at Collin College. In all of my roles the focus is on helping students be successful. I look forward to working with faculty and staff to achieve this outcome.
