About Dave Pickering

After 9 years in the Royal Marines I have had a very successful career in business development including sales, sales management, product management, marketing and general management before starting Active Creations in 2005. Active Creations offered marketing support and photography services. We grew right through the recession years and maintained a strong position. In the subsequent years, as we helped clients to grow and increase their turnover. I have always taken photographs and this love of photography had developed into an important part of the business. Photography became the strongest service by far, so in 2013 I gave it it’s own identity and website; AC Photography was born! As this grew, and clients required additional services, aerial photography was added, first by ‘big stick’, then by drone. In 2014 video was a 'natural next step', and we starting shooting videos for clients of all aspects of their business. The marketing support offered was comprehensive but photography became the main source of business. In late 2015 we moved to Lancashire, the move was a positive move, to support my wife in her career path. It became apparent during 2016 that the business model that worked so well in Bedfordshire and London, was not going to transfer to Lancashire and Manchester for a variety of reasons. The move to RBH was an easy one, heading back into an industry I know but it was short lived as I was 'made an offer I could not refuse.' I moved to Securefast plc in August 2017 taking up the position of Regional Sales Manager for the north of England & Scotland. A large area geographically, and a large pot of opportunity spanning the Security, Electrical and Architectural Ironmongery markets. Securefast was acquired by the OSL Group in early 2022 and will be merged with CQR Security an existing group company. As part of this I was invited to join the export team taking on responsibility for Scandinavia, Western Europe and other territories across the globe.
