About Dave Robinson
I am a professional in the Hard Disk Drive industry with over 23 years' experience. I have held positions in IBM, Xyratex and Teleplan. I am currently in my fourth year of an assignment to Teleplan Penang Malaysia. While in Penang I have helped to set up the Storage BU Research and Development Lab. The labs primary purpose is to design and develop software for testing storage devices; especially HDD's. The lab also creates software for Data Management (Data Erase, Disk Copying and Drive Imaging). Our Flagship tester the PROTEUS is now widely used in the company. Formally I was a Radar Engineer; having trained as an Weapons Engineering Artificer in the Royal Navy. I spent a number of years in the Middle East installing and maintaining early warning radar systems with Marconi Radar.
