About Dave Ryan

As with many young folk, I believed that my future would best be sorted out during my College years. I attended Boston State College my first year and was not overly thrilled. I went to Suffolk Univesity for a semester and reallized that the liberal arts direction at that time was not for me. Having already been in the Food Service industry at a very early age, I realized that I had a passion for the Kitchen. I started out again, after my College stint, as a Bartender in Harvard Square, moving to Bar Manager and ultimately Kitchen work. I served for many years as a Line Cook in Cambridge and Boston before accepting a position as Chef of restaurants in Baltimore, New York, Hilton Head, Miami Beach and finally Nantucket. While cooking at night, I had my days free and ventured out into Landscaping with the help of my close friend MJ. After 25 years of Food and Beverage behind me and 10 years Landscaping already under my belt, I went full time with Dave Ryan Landdcaping and have never looked back. Cooking and Landscaping were the 2 Schools for me. Nantucket has been great to me and for my family. I have enjoyed my journey thus far.
