DNV Bishop Auckland is one of the largest natural gas test facilities Worldwide. The test site is connected to the UK national gas transmission system and uses dry natural gas at pressures from approximately 38 to 55 bar and flow rates from 20 to 19,500 actual m3/hr. Components from 1” to 48”diameter are gas flow tested including flow meters, filters, choke valves, turbo expanders, gas lift valves, pipeline internal coatings, new meter technologies, pipeline inspection PIGs, erosion performance, hot tap technologies and downhole safety valve testing. Calibration of pressure and temperature equipment is also performed along with dimensional calibration of orifice plates in labs on site.
