About Dave Stanley

After studying to attain two degrees in history I began my PhD in Global Affairs only to realize instead of studying I wanted to do. I began my career working at the National Security Agency as a counterintelligence investigator/Special Agent, where I was trained in investigations, reports writing and interviewing/interrogations. After moving on from federal service I began my career as a government contractor, where I further honed my skills in counterintelligence over the years. This skillset is seemingly specific and limited, but in fact is not. The skills I have ascertained include teamwork, leadership, public speaking/presenting, long-term research and writing, often with delivering oral summaries of my finished projects, worldwide travel (I only have Australia and Antarctica to go and need to touch the Arctic Ocean), interviewing subjects at home and abroad, a thorough understanding of best security practices in a workplace environment and many more. As said, while the title,"counterintelligence", sounds like a pigeonhole, it is in fact part of a larger skillset that can fit not only in government contracting work, but in any large or small company or corporation in need of a deep thinker and individual who can thoughtfully express honest and unbiased assessments.
