Career Accomplishments2003Started the Certified Computer Repair program, which now includes certifications in Computer Repair, Computer Networking, Computer Security, Ethical Hacking, Cyber Defense, and Linux Systems.2008 Led the effort to acquire site licensing for the Adobe Creative Suite (now Adobe Creative Cloud).2010-2015Managed the district computer refurbishing program for retired equipment.2013-2017 Managed a summer tech camp program for students grades four through eight.2014-2015Hosted an Affordable Technology Night community talk to demonstrate affordable technologies for district families.2014-2019 Coached students for the annual Spring Journalism Education Association Convention competitive events with students winning in broadcast categories every year of competition.2015-2016Designed and installed a live broadcast studio after being awarded a federal grant.2016-2019Taught the first three years of the College Board's AP Computer Science Principles course.2016-2020Member of the board of the Pennsylvania School Press Association taking on the duty of completely redesigning the organization’s website. The redesign made it possible for member schools to use the website for competition registrations, contest applications, and payment of all related fees of member schools via credit card. Use of Google Drive was also implemented for the storage of PSPA documents so that all of the organization's information could be accessed by members of the board via a single repository.2017 Designed and installed two quad-screen driving simulators with drive cage, steering wheel, pedals, and gear shifter with custom VR capable PC built for 50% less than the retail cost of systems with fewer capabilities and lower specifications than my system design.2018Initiated the department effort to make Intro to Computer Science our updated required course for grade nine students.2019Advised district administration on procuring Adobe Certified Professional exams for the BCIT and Technology Education programs and set up the high school to be a Certiport Testing Center for administering the exams.2020Designed the athletic program’s live stream system utilizing multiple, fully wireless cameras for more immersive game coverage along with a full graphics package for team names and logos, event scores, and other related game elements. The design also utilized a fully wireless communication system. 2024 Named Pennsylvania Journalism Teacher of the year by the Pennsylvania School Press Association.
