Professional committed to transforming lives and opportunities for disadvantaged children through education. Passionate about improving literacy levels of primary and secondary school students, and increasing student access and participation in schools. Primary focus is to work with an organisations that focus on educational development particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. MA in Education and International Development from the Institute of Education (London) and a BA Honours in English Literature and Drama from Brunel University (London). Successful work experience within the UK secondary education sector focusing on development and implantation of Key Stage 3 and 4 literacy intervention. Over 5 years experience working with NGO’s and grassroots organisations (on education and community matters) in both the UK and West Africa. Knowledgeable and experienced in: Education systems, sector planning and education programme design; Education Policy analysis; the global education context; equity issues within education; the application of pro-poor education interventions and Monitoring and Evaluating. All experience specific to the sub-Saharan African and European context. Personal Qualities Includes: I am a keen and quick learner who is passionate about education and international development. I am comfortable working as part of a team whilst equally comfortable working independently. My personal mission is to engage in work that will empower, encourage, educate, motivate and provide individuals with opportunities to achieve. I desire to expand and grow in roles that will challenge me, teach me and enable me to contribute effectively to the work of the organisation. I love to laugh, enjoy life and meet new people.
