Background

About David A Haak

For the past 5 years I have led the Carpenter Shop at The University of Arizona. These include general carpentry, flooring, doors and cabinetry across campus. My role encompasses overseeing operations, maintaining project priorities, and navigating staffing challenges within the budgets that are allocated for our department. The ability to ensure efficiency during budget constraints and a hiring freeze is a testament to my leadership skills and resourcefulness. Since taking on the role of Supervisor, I have been able to create an environment with a sense of urgency among our team members while improving morale and team building within our department. I continue to work with my team members as well as our management team to improve our customer experiences, work environment and compensation with the end goal of leaving these shops within the University of Arizona in better shape than when I arrived.
