About David A. Luttrell

Experienced, driven, and committed to the highest standards of law enforcement, I bring a well-rounded foundation in tactical operations, training, and leadership. I hold a Master Peace Officer certification through TCOLE, along with advanced certifications as an Instructor, Mental Health Peace Officer, Cybercrime Investigator, and Firearms Instructor. My passion for leadership development is reflected in my completion of FBI-LEEDA’s Executive Leadership training and my current pursuit of the Leadership Command College through the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT). Throughout my career, I’ve remained focused on mentorship and officer development, serving in roles such as Mentor Program Coordinator, Field Training Officer, NAPD Driving Instructor, and Firearms Instructor/Range Officer. With specialized skills in firearms instruction and maintenance, I’m also certified as an armorer for Glock, Remington 870, and AR-15 platforms. I take pride in bringing a balanced, proactive approach to leadership, mental health response, and modern policing practices—committed to both operational excellence and the development of those around me. Looking ahead, I plan to transition into higher education as a secondary career, teaching American history at the collegiate level. I’m especially grateful to the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and Gettysburg College for deepening my understanding and appreciation of our nation’s past. Their programs have played a meaningful role in preparing me to contribute to the academic field and inspire the next generation of students.
