About David Adkins

Over 30 years with the same company and while a bit of an anachronism in today’s world I was lucky enough early in my career to have had the opportunity to help develop and launch a completely new product into the textile industry keeping things interesting along the way. Early in my career focused on resolving technical issues with TENCEL™ lyocell working directly in the operations of our mill partners. From there on to various roles ranging from Product Development, Marketing, Market Development and finally to a role overseeing our Commercial operations in the Americas. Including a few years as an ex-pat in Sao Paulo, Brazil opening our regional office and developing our markets throughout the South American region. In terms of inspiration and motivation I have always enjoyed a challenge, whether technical or commercial, since both require cooperation across many disciplines within an organization. Whether working to overcome technical issues in a new product category, managing a cross-functional team to develop new supply chains, overcoming cultural barriers in new markets or taking on a foreign assignment and working to master a new language they all represent a challenge and an opportunity for continued growth.
