About David Aitken

Successful leader with global experience of developing strategies, growing teams, and building partnerships to decarbonise at speed and scale. For most of the last two decades I was based in the UK catalysing the development of innovative climate technologies, business models, and finance mechanisms. I led Carbon Trust’s innovation work including founding and directing a team of more than 25 net zero transition experts and influencing more than NZ$2 billion of climate tech innovation work. My experience spans projects around the world, across diverse industries, and stages of development. I thrive in navigating new, uncertain environments and have a track record of enabling high potential companies and initiatives to achieve outstanding results. Since returning to New Zealand in late 2023, I have been leading the set up of Lucidome Bio, a new methane vaccine venture, and providing strategic advice to the Centre for Sustainable Finance. I am motivated by protecting people and planet and ensuring an inclusive transition to net zero.
