About David Akers

My previous experience as an Executive Team Leader Specialty Sales at Target, I led a team of approximately 100 Team Members and 11 Team Leaders in a $45M+ store, where I act as the "Leader on Duty" and oversaw the merchandising and pricing of various departments. I was in this role for 2 years, and I developed two of my Team Leaders to promote to Executive Team Leader and trained a newly enrolled Executive Team Leader. My core competencies include business decision making, strategic planning, and team mentoring. I leverage these skills to drive total store sales, manage payroll, and improve team morale. I also have experience in providing support and guidance to other stores undergoing leadership changes, as I did in my previous role as Executive Team Leader General Merchandise, where I traveled with a group of leaders throughout the Midwest for three months. My mission is to deliver world-class service and operational excellence at Target, and I am proud to have led one of my stores to #1 out of 76 stores in customer experience in a high-risk store.
