About David Andrew Strobel

As an experienced humanitarian professional, with 30+ years’ experience in the international relief and development sector working in challenging emergency, conflict and post-conflict environments – Bosnia-Hercegovina, Rwanda, Colombia, and experience leading in complex emergencies like the 2004 Asian Tsunami, Central America Hurricane Mitch response, Pakistan Floods/Population Movement response and more, I am looking for meaningful work with serious organizations making an impact in the world. My focus is to support local, national and international organizations to carry out inspiring and innovative approaches to Disaster Response, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Recovery, Climate Change Adaptation, and Community Engagement. I have significant experience managing the full Disaster Management cycle and working in partnership with local organizations with a grounded approach to organizational development and capacity building. Throughout my career I have led donor outreach and successful proposal development processes with major international donors (USAID, Department of State, ECHO, European Union, etc.). My background in community development anchors me strongly in my approach providing technical assistance and being an added value to international emergency and development operations.
