Background

About David Bailie

Having worked in the construction industry as an electrician for many years I decided to take some time out to travel/work across the globe. It was during this adventure I decided to return to education and study a long time passion of physics. Having earned a place at Queen's University Belfast I obtained my M.Sci. degree in the area of Physics with Astrophysics, my thesis entitled "Novel Schemes for the Collimation of Neutral Electron-Positron Beams". From there I went on to complete my Ph.D. in the area of Laser/Plasma Physics, my thesis entitled "Electronic Structure of Warm Dense Matter". During this time I conducted and led research experiments which saw me travel to the USA, China and back to Europe. This research resulted in a number of first author and co-author papers published in world renowned scientific journals. After the birth of our daughter my partner (Alex) and I decided to return to her homeland of Australia. With Alex having over 12 years experience in commercial interior design, specialising in the hospitality sector we decided to setup our own commercial interior design business in Brisbane under the company name "Jarrold & Bailie". Alex is the principle designer and I will provide operations and business strategy along with design input, 3D modeling and renders.
