About David Baker

What I love in my role as Mortgage Sales Leader at TD Bank is the opportunity to create the kinds of stellar experiences that make a difference for our clients and allow us to expand. I began my career as a financial advisor. What stayed with me from that role is the way I see every first-time mortgage or refinance opportunity as a chance to get the customer into a better position in life—a way to get them one step closer to their goals. It’s a joy to see a customer buy their dream home, or set something aside for their children. Helping my team foster strong client relationships make coming into work every day a true passion, not just a job. It’s easy to get pulled in different directions these days, which is why I continue to remind myself to keep the end goal in sight. To build on opportunities, I’m focused on how I can: recruit talented loan officers and develop a first-class program to help them excel improve the customer experience across my four-state footprint set expectations for bank branches and loan officers Because I truly love what I do, I make an active effort to unplug when I'm away from the office. My family goes back generations in the coastal town where I live. So on warm days, I like to take my boat out—and turn my phone off. It's a great way to wind down and relax.
