About David Barbalet

My mission goals are centred on innovation systems that enable long-term economic and social prosperity coupled with environmental sustainability. As National Alliances manager at Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre, a portfolio agency of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, I lead the Inspiriting Australia network, National Science Week and Traveling exhibitions teams. My team and I are dedicated change makers. We create opportunities for all Austrians to engage with innovation, STEM and creative problem-solving capability development. Our programs run nationally and are designed to be fun, inclusive and equitable. Before joining the Commonwealth Government, I worked in growth companies in various roles including Industrial design, engineering, fabrication, new product delivery, project management and business development. I’m passionate about Australian innovation and long-term economic, social and environmental prosperity. I bring this passion to my work in Government and recognise the importance delivery has longitudinally for all Australians.
