About David Bargh

I am a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience both within practice and industry – principally within the technology and telecoms sector. I graduated from Lancaster University with a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) Management degree. My current role is Director of Finance Operations at GBG plc where I am responsible for delivering world class financial control and reporting, to meet obligations to investors and public company listing requirements, and preparing robust financial results for key internal stakeholders including board, executive and business reporting. Prior to this I was Group Financial Controller at Chess – a fast growing and highly acquisitive telecoms and ICT business. Part of the senior management team, I had responsibility for developing and managing all areas of finance across our divisions to support the companies ambitious future growth plans. Until 2015 I was senior manager in the audit department at EY where I spent 12 years leading global and UK based audit teams to support a portfolio of international, listed and private equity backed businesses. During this time I spent 6 months on secondment at Speedy Hire plc as Regional Financial Controller. In addition to my ‘day job’ I also spent 3 years as Chairman of the Greater Manchester Board of Young Enterprise. Having taken part in the Young Enterprise programme myself, I am committed to ensuring that as many young people as possible, from a diverse range of backgrounds, are able to benefit from real-life entrepreneurial experience at a young age.
