David Barkwell is a seasoned technology executive that has lead new business initiatives at start-up firms as well as large industry leading companies. David has spent more than 14 years working with high-growth technology firms, industry associations and clients on the commercialization of ideas. David has international experience in Canada, the United States and Europe and holds a Greencard for the United States. David is driven by his passion to work with partners, customers and leading edge technology to create world-class technology solutions that drive real business results. David has developed a unique set of expertise based on working with world class partners like Microsoft and customers such as CHEP, which won the Microsoft World Wide Project of the Year in 2007 based on Microsoft’s BizTalk Server solution and David’s company, Cactus Commerce now Smith Commerce https://smithcommerce.com/, also won the Microsoft Partner of the Year based on this same project which David managed from its infancy. David’s strengths lie in Business Development where he has brought several partner and customer deals together that have solidified multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts. David was involved in the early stages of a muli-year deal with Microsoft’s Commerce Server team which saw Cactus Commerce take over all of Microsoft’s development of this product in August of 2007. This deal is extremely unique and led to Cactus becoming a Managed Partner with Microsoft.
