About David Barrick

David Barrick is a seasoned and skilled public administration leader, civil servant and former elected official in Canada. An adept liaison between senior members of government and constituents, he helped guide Canadian municipalities toward a bright future. He has dedicated his life to representing local communities with budgetary management for essentials like social programs and infrastructure, while also advocating for the environment and sustainability. Lessons learned from years of service have been extensive. From serving as Chief Administrative Officer of the 9th largest City in Canada (Brampton, Ontario); the Budget Chair for the Niagara Region; the senior leader at a Provincial Conservation agency; Councillor for the Regional Municipality of Niagara and City of Port Colborne; on the Police Services Board as well as Regional Housing Board, he has faced and overcome a multitude of challenges with awe-inspiring teams of dedicated people. David Barrick has been recognized for his dedication during the course of his career. The public sector, no doubt, has his complete dedication as it strives toward incremental and substantial changes in the quest to help communities navigate the challenges of today, while mitigating the risks of tomorrow. He notes that a conscientious government that listens to its constituents empowers them. That is why David Barrick loves civil service. Responsible leadership can positively transform organizations and communities. In fact, David has witnessed it, and been a part of it. Such results are not miracles, they are the result of collaboration and hard work. An Honours Bachelor’s in Political Science and a concentration in Law from Brock University well positioned him to help municipalities and businesses. He has since earned a number of administrative and leadership-focused certifications through York University’s Schulich School of Business and Queen’s University Smith School of Business. Entrepreneurial endeavors are also a part of David Barrick’s story and he believes much wisdom can be gleaned from both public and private schools of thought.
