Background
About David Bayliss
I am currently employed as a B1/2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer at Loganair since January 2018 having left my position at Petrofac as an Instrument and Controls Technician. Prior to that I was as an Aircraft Electrical and Avionic Technician with the Royal Air Force, rising to SNCO leading an Avionics team. During my time with Petrofac, I studied my EASA Maintenance Licence modules with Air Service Training in Perth, Scotland. I achieved this via a mixture of self study and attending the classes on an ad-hoc basis. After successfully completing all of these modules I started employment with Loganair. I had been able to begin my CAP741 Logbook prior to starting with Loganair and have since built up enough experience to apply for a basic B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.I have excellent analytical skills by accurately fault finding on complex electrical systems often under time pressure. Strong written communication skills shown by completion of legal maintenance documentation, daily reports and staff appraisals. I am able to work in a team or as a leader, with self-motivation and a positive, friendly attitude contributing to the completion tasks before deadlines.
