About David Bishop

I am a partner practicing out of the New York office of Kirby McInerney LLP, where I coordinate domestic client and government relations. I joined the firm in 2006 following a distinguished career in local government. As an attorney in private practice, I have litigated numerous NASD arbitrations on behalf of claimants. Recent cases in which I have been involved include: Representation of the NY State Common Retirement Fund as lead plaintiff in In re National City Corporation Securities, Derivative & ERISA Litigation, a securities class action arising from National City’s alleged misrepresentations regarding exposure to subprime mortgage related losses. This case recently resulted in a settlement of $168 million; Representation, as lead counsel, of classes of consumers harmed by price fixing in the LCD flat panel and SRAM markets; and Representation, as co-lead counsel, of an investor class led by an individual investor in Lapin v. Goldman Sachs, a securities class action against Goldman Sachs. This litigation resulted in a recovery of $29 million for the class.
