About David Broucek

I have worked in the IT industry since 1992, and working primarily for Harper College. I started in an IT Support role servicing student, faculty, and staff computing needs, Hardware and software support, along with software and hardware refreshes. Provided technical service to Board Members and the Office of the President. In 2004 I accepted an IT Manger role where I managed the IT support staff handling student, faculty, and staff technology hardware and software needs. The role also included review of hardware and software refreshes and implementations; reviews with upper management, faculty, and staff for hardware and software implementations; patch management for software and hardware; IT Project Management; Asset Management; and had managed up to a max of 26 employees. In 2018, I took on the role of IT Security which was compliance focused. One of my favorite projects was working with Faculty to develop and implement newer, and more technically based, lecterns. What made this project a success was integrating Faculty with the decisions of the lectern design and technology, which was not a norm in the past. This project also challenged my team and myself to be able to accommodate the needs, associated technology, and get outside of the IT mindset and into a student/Faculty usability needs.
