About David Burgess

Although the first fifteen years of my practice involved litigation and trial of business and criminal cases, my focus has turned in recent years to divorce and family law, to which I now devote the majority of my time. I believe my temperament, skills and experience make me particularly well-suited to helping divorcing parties resolve difficult conflicts, often without the need for protracted and expensive litigation. I enjoy the challenge of finding solutions for complex and seemingly intractable problems, and find it particularly gratifying to see couples who have been in a state of conflict emerge from the divorce process able to communicate well with one another and able to work together effectively as parents. I am convinced that many couples can achieve a better result, and at significantly lower cost (emotional as well as financial), when they are represented by a professional who is able to help them see the big picture, rather than getting caught up in the weeds.
