About David Burkhart

Over 30 years of experience in nearly every facet of the automobile industry. I grew up in Detroit where my father was a body shop manager. I worked summers for him and for local dealerships. Summers during college I worked at Ford Motor's Paint Plant in Mt. Clemens. Michigan. After getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, I worked in production management for Clairol, Inc, and then as a project engineer for Fibreboard and Crown Zellerbach paper companies. Eventually I got back in the auto business as an F&I Manager trained by Pat Ryan and Associates. Later I went to work for a small service contract administration company called Mechanical Insurance Associates. In 6 years we became the largest independent service contract administrator in the USA and I was the COO and Board member. After MIA was sold, I went to work for a small regional mechanical inspection company. After being bought and sold and re-named several times, as Integrated Warranty Services, it eventually became the largest inspection company in the USA with over 200 field associates and contracts with Toyota, Nissan, and General Motors. I was the Senior VP. I then went to work for Universal Underwriters (now Zurich) as F&I Regional Administrator for Southern California. Since 2002 I have been an aftermarket agent selling service contracts, GAP, theft-deterrents, and protective coatings. I also provide direct mail, CRM products, security products, software, and many other necessary dealer services. Currently I also provide compliance consulting services to 15 vehicle dealers in Southern and Central California as well as the premier desking/presentation software, Guest Concept's FIRST PENCIL, to dozens of dealerships.
