About David Calef

I am an expert in international development and humanitarian assistance. Over the past 18 years, I worked in different sectors including cash and voucher programming, food security, safety nets, rural development and environmental protection. I held positions in several units of two UN agencies (FAO and WFP), in country and headquarter positions, research and academic institutions, and international NGOs. I conceived and wrote corporate guidelines, strategic policies, project proposals, manuals and analytic studies on a wide range of topics. With these documents I helped secure over 12 million USD in funding. Over the last 10 years, I was a member of the FAO cash and voucher team for which I designed and delivered FAO corporate training on cash and voucher programming to several hundred staff from FAO, other UN agencies and NGOs. I am available for short to medium-term field deployments as well as longer term work undertaken remotely, with or without field visits. I am fluent in English, Italian and French. I have working knowledge of Portuguese and basic Spanish and Ukrainian.
