Background
About David Campanella
Chemical Engineer by training, Project Manager by experience. My experience in the chemical, biotech, food and plastics industries includes retrofit, expansion and turnkey projects. Over my career I've had the opportunity to be involved with several unique projects sending me halfway around the world, Expanded Polystyrene plant in China, a water desalination plant on the Euphrates River and plant to recover depleted uranium mill scrape. 25 years ago, it was the design and startup of a gpm grout mixing plant to stabilize soil for the "Big Dig" in Boston. This plant ran 16 hours a day / 6 days a week for 2 years. Triple augers riggs drilled down 200 feet to bedrock and mixed in the grout all the way back to the surface. This process was repeated thousands of times. Once the area was stabilized the cast Ted Williams Tunnel extension tubes were entrenched underneath Fort Point Channel and steel tunnel tubes were hydraulicly jacked under the Amtrak and above the Red Line rails. Now people west of Boston can drive directly to Logan and save at least 15 minutes going to the airport. Biotech is my passion, my other interests are in green chemistry, waste reduction and renewable energy, especially biofuels. I am currently looking for mentoring and pro bono opportunities in these areas. I am a CleanTech Open mentor. Specialties: Project Management, Process and Control Engineering, System Design, Commissioning and startup trouble shooter, Plant Inspections; NEC/NFPA, FDA, OSHA and EPA Regulations, Team facilitator for HAZOP reviews, What Ifs, Risk Assessment & Reduction, Energy Audits and Accident Investigations. chemist physics math projects managed problems solved creating profit David Campanella my Haiku You’ll never get rich by digging a ditch but if you own an excavator, you can earn a good living, have the right tools to get the job done!
