About David Campelo

Currently living in Sabadell (Barcelona - Catalonia) I studied at the National Conservatory's School of Music, where he gratuated in recorder under Prof. Isabel Gonzaga's guidance. I graduated (BSc) in Early Music and Master (MSc) in Music Teaching - Recorder at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML - Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa), under the guidance of Prof.º Pedro Couto Soares. I also studied at HKU - University of the Arts Utrecht (The Netherlands) under the Erasmus Program in the Winter Semester of the year 2012/2013, studying the Recorder, Recorder Consort and Chamber Music with Prof.º Heiko Ter Schegget, Chamber Music with Prof.º Siebe Henstra, Traverso with Prof.º Wilbert Hazelzet and Alexander Technique with Prof. Crissman Taylor. I'm also interested on complementing my studies with periodic courses on music psychology, neuroscience on artistic teaching (David Bueno) and others. I'm a dedicated recorder player and teacher, and perform choral-symphonic repertoire as a freelance choralist (bariton). My main focus is Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, but also Contemporary Music. I collaborate regularly with the Coro Misto da Beira Interior (Portugal), with the Early Music Ensemble Il Dolcimelo (Portugal), the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès (Catalonia) and Semproniana (Catalonia). He is a co-founder of the tradball music group BanDuolers and the Early Music group Rondini. Master (MSc) in Music Teaching - Recorder, by ESML (2015) with a classification of 18/20. Between 2015 and 2021 I was a recorder teacher at several music conservatoires and schools such as IMVM (Lisbon), Academia de Música de Almada (Sobreda), E. A. Música do Conservatório Nacional (Lisbon), Orfeão de Leiria (Leiria), CRAM (Montijo), CRAMC (Faro), AML (Polo de Loulé) and at Escola de Música Sons e Compassos (Terrugem). Since 2022 I've been teaching the recorder and Music Theory at Mataró's Municipal Music School, at the Flute at Puig-reig's Municipal Music School and Els Músics de Gràcia (Sabadell). Simultaneously, I'm dedicated to the study, interpretation and translation of languages ​such as English, Spanish, Catalan (Level B2 - Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon) and French.
