About David Chiles

I am a non-profit senior executive focused on providing STEM learning experiences to youth from elementary to post-secondary school in historically underrepresented communities. I believe strongly in establishing collaborations with schools, youth organizations, and other non-profits. I am passionate about helping equip administrative staff and instructors with resources to bring the STEM experience into their classrooms and the lives of people in underrepresented areas. Additionally, I am passionate about workforce development and internships/apprenticeships for students and young adults looking to gain experience in their respective fields. My accomplishments include the following: Collaborated with my team to create a workforce development program starting with students in the 9th grade and continuing through the start of their careers. Developing partnerships with corporations, non-profits, and DEI leaders to execute a collective impact framework that meets all community needs for students to be successful in STEM careers. Established a process automation platform, using robotic process automation to automate 16 processes with labor savings of $694K in the first six months. Formulated and managed an Information technology budget of up to $650M, including salaries for 580 employees, over contractors, hardware, software, telecommunications, data center facilities, and capital purchases. Invented new technology that generated over 13 granted information technology patents. Led technical evaluation team for a Software Development and Integration procurement worth up to $532M, awarding contracts to five companies for task order competition. Improved collaboration with agency business unit leaders by building rapport and trust through professional and courteous communication that led to the successful completion of stalled information technology projects. Selected and served as an acting Chief Information Officer for 15 months, improving the resiliency and availability of critical information technology systems in response to frequent technology outages. Established and led an R&D team that successfully utilized artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically assign design codes to new trademark filings and automatically assigned classification codes to new patent applications.
