David brings in 38 years of professional accounting and corporate advisory experience in Australia, Hong Kong SAR, and China, majority of the time at partner level. David holds professional accounting qualifications from Australia, Hong Kong SAR and UK. Since starting ShineWing in Australia in 2008, David and its directors have served a large number of Chinese companies (both stated-owned or privately-owned) and high net worth individuals from Asia in collaborating with Australian companies on projects that are mutually rewarding. Services provided have included financial and tax due diligence, review of valuation model, tax structuring, tax compliance, merger negotiation, internal control mechanism, merger arrangements, and sourcing of strategic investors. Major sectors covered include mining and resources, biotechnology, agriculture, food processing, and property development. Although David has been involved in transactions ranged from A$2 million to A$2 billion, nonetheless the sweet spot is from A$10 million to A$50 million. The extensive coverage of ShineWing LLP in China and Asia further enhances the network that David has developed to support cross-border corporate activities involving Australian and Asian companies. This network allows for the identification of strategic partners and fast tracking of investment activities. David is attuned to the Asian listed companies and stock exchange requirements, international taxation issues and international corporate structuring issues. David has been a regular presenter on the Cantonese program of SBS Radio on Australian economic affairs. David has also served on various professional accounting bodies, boards and government committees covering cross-border and multicultural business activities. David speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
